SR-GLUE COMPOUND Instructions

Download

1. GENERAL

1.1 This instruction describes the process of applying a sound-proof compound “SR-GLUE ™” on the following types of surfaces:

- gypsum plasterboard;

- gypsum fiber sheet;

- cement strand board;

- oriented strand board;

- chipboard;

- etc.

1.2 Typical schemes and nodes of application of the material "SR-GLUE ™" are attached to these Instructions. If it is necessary to install other soundproofing systems (other than typical ones) using the soundproofing compound SR-GLUE ™, it is recommended to contact the product developer.

1.3 The materials used for sound insulation must meet the requirements of the relevant technical documentation. Sound insulation compound "SR-GLUE ™" must comply with TU 2257-116-89189728-2017 requirements.

1.4 Each lot of the compound must be accompanied with a certificate confirming the quality of the products, and each package must be marked with the manufacturer’s label.

2. APPLICABLE MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT

2.1 A set of spatulas.

2.2 Rags or power tools for dusting the surface of the sheet material.

2.3 Syringe pistol for applying compound.

2.4 Electromechanical tool for mixing paints and varnishes.

3. SURFACE PREPARATION

3.1 Before you start working directly with the “SR-GLUE ™” compound, it is necessary to install the first layer of sheet material on the guides on the insulated wall according to the standard technological instructions recommended by the manufacturer. Between the guides it is recommended to use sound-absorbing material like mineral, cotton or wool. This measure will enhance the sound insulation properties of the system in relation to medium and high frequency noise (see the scheme for sound insulation of walls with the use of metal profiles).

3.2 If it is necessary to mount sheet material without guides (directly to the wall), it should be taken into account that GFS (gypsum-fiber sheet) can be used as the first layer of sheet material. Before proceeding with the installation of a gypsum plasterboard, it is necessary to reinforce the layer of a vibration-absorbing lining between the wall and the sheet of a GFS. As a rule, such a lining is used when installing parquet or laminate. This measure will reduce the penetration of high-frequency noise through the wall (see the scheme for sound insulation of walls without the use of metal profiles).

4. PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF SOUND INSULATING COMPOUND

4.1 Open the SR-GLUE ™ soundproofing container.

4.2 Mix thoroughly with an electromechanical tool until a homogeneous creamy mass is formed.

4.3 Pre-mixed composition should be typed in a special syringe pistol with a volume of 600 or 900 ml.

4.4 It is prohibited to apply the composition to a wet or icy surface. It is not recommended to work in wet conditions, since the material is diluted with water, as a result of which the drying time will increase.

4.5 Work under conditions of high humidity leads to an increase in the duration of drying.

4.6 The application of “SR-GLUE ™” should be carried out at an ambient air temperature not lower than + 5°С and relative humidity not more than 75%.

4.7 The application of the compound should be made from a syringe-pistol, first along the entire perimeter of the sheet material, departing from the edge of 2-3 cm, then by arbitrary lines at equal distances from each other. The number of such applications is governed by the consumption of the compound.

4.8 Consumption of the SR-GLUE ™ composition is approximately 0.7–0.8 kg (500–600) ml per 1 .

4.9 After applying “SR-GLUE ™” on the sheet surface, after 2-3 minutes, apply it to the insulated surface and fix it with self-tapping screws. In this case, the number of screws should be 2 times less than with the usual installation of sheet material. Installation of sheet material should be carried out so that it does not have direct contact with the floor, ceiling and walls. It is necessary to leave a gap of 3-5 mm from all sides. Between themselves in the plane sheets are joined closely.

4.10 Installation of sheets with the applied compound must be made in a staggered order with respect to the sheets fixed in sections 3.1, 3.2, that is, the position of the interlayer seams of the first layer of sheets must not coincide with the position of the seams of the second layer of sheets.

4.11 After mounting the second layer of sheet building material, it is necessary to fill the gaps between walls, floor and ceiling with sound insulating sealant “SR-GLUE ™” using a spatula. Further wall finishing can be started 3–7 days after full polymerization of the SR-GLUE ™ sealing compound.

5. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

5.1 Sound insulation compound “SR-GLUE ™” has no toxic and skin-resorptive effect. According to GOST 12.1.007 "SR-GLUE ™" refers to the 4th Class of Hazard.

5.2 During the work with the product it is recommended to use goggles, an apron.

5.3 Storage and use of the composition is not associated with the observance of special safety requirements, as it is fire and explosion-proof.

5.4 Transportation and storage of the “SR-GLUE ™” soundproofing compound should be carried out in a tightly closed container at a temperature not lower than +5°C and not higher than +35°C.

5.5 Short-term freezing of the product to a temperature not lower than -40°C for a period not exceeding 25 days is allowed.

5.6. Only personnel who studied the instructions on applying a sound-insulating compound should be allowed to work independently.

5.7. The SR-GLUE ™ sound-insulating compound complies with TU 2257-116-89189728-2017.

6. EMERGENCY SITUATIONS

6.1 In case of contact with eyes immediately wash eyes with running water during 15 minutes. If irritation persists seek medical assistance.

6.2 In case of contact with "SR-GLUE ™" on the skin, wash with soap and water. Wash contaminated clothing.

6.3 If “SR-GLUE ™” enters the respiratory organs - go to fresh air.

6.4 In case of leakage in order to facilitate cleaning use any absorbent material such as sand, soil, wiping waste and etc.
